Govt to announce result of AES review early 2016 - Liow
LIOW: The announcement on the review of the AES is expected to be made early next year.
The government will announce the result of an overall review of the automated enforcement system (AES) implementation early next year, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
He said the government wanted to ensure the AES implementation would go hand-in-hand with the demerit points system (Kejara).
"We must make sure it can be implemented and there are no hitches in the system, and that is why when the time is right, I will make the announcement. Right now, it is still under review," he told a press conference after a ground-breaking ceremony at the Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Poi Lam here Sunday.
Liow said currently, there were 14 AES cameras in operation.
"We did not stop the AES system and those with summons still need to pay," he said.
