The 'Apa Kata Gen Y 2016' programme could create a major impact in channeling information on the country and in building the identity of youths, said Communications and Multimedia Ministry Psychological Operations and Issue Management division director Hashim Bedu.
He said the programme could help answer several questions on building self-esteem, patriotism, racial unity and contributions of the Y generation in defending national sovereignty.
He was speaking at the opening of 'Apa Kata Gen Y 2016' at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Polytechnic here.
He said patriotism could not merely be in name but it needed to be acquired under one's own identity.
"All that needs to be in line with a strong identity in each of us especially the youths to be idealistic and forward-looking as excellent human capital," he said.
