KUALA LUMPUR: The government is set to organise the Malaysian Economic Forum (FEM2025) on Jan 9, 2025, to chart Malaysia's priorities and policies for 2025.
According to the Minister of Economy, Rafizi Ramli, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to deliver a keynote address at the forum.
"FEM2025 will see a gathering of stakeholders from various sectors to discuss issues such as innovation and technology, investment opportunities in Malaysia, Malaysia's role as the ASEAN chairman and the strategies to deal with global economic challenges," he said in his Facebook post today.
According to the FEM2025 website, this annual event will track the medium-term progress of the government's initiatives and set the narrative for the coming year.
"With Malaysia assuming the chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025, 'Seizing Malaysia's Moment' recognises the country's inherent strengths to seize the opportunities that lie ahead," it said, adding that the one-day forum will gather influential leaders from academia, industries, and government.
Notable speakers will include the Prime Minister; Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Minister of Finance II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan; Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Datuk Seri Shaik Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghaffour and Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift.
"With topics ranging from fiscal and monetary policies, technology to education reforms, each panel will also include a Malaysian Minister.
"The ministers' policies, combined with insights by expert panellists, will foster dynamic dialogue and spark new ideas," it said.
