The Magistrate's Court here today ordered a grandfather to enter his defence on four counts of molesting his 10-year-old granddaughter.
Magistrate Zulkpli Abdullah said the prosecution had succeeded in establishing a prima facie case against the 75-year-old man who allegedly committed the offence at two hotels and in a car here, between 1pm and 6pm between April 2010 and October 2011.
The magistrate who fixed July 29 for the defence trial, said his decision was based among others, on the testimony by the victim's mother and the three doctors who examined her.
"Apart from the testimony of the three doctors, the photo found in the handphone of the accused also supported the testimony of the victim," he said.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Hafizah Rajuni called 16 witnesses during the hearing while Counsel for the accused, Noor Azah Azizan said the defence would call 20 witnesses.
