Grasscutter killed after being hit by train

A youth was killed after he was hit by a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) commuter train at the Nilai-Mantin boundary near here, this morning.

Nilai District Police chief Supt Zaldino Zaludin said the Nilai Police Station received information on the incident at 11 am.

"The victim was identified as A. Renishkumar, 20. He was a contract worker for cutting grass in the area along the KTMB route," he said here, today.

He said, upon completing his task, the youth was said to have stood on the railway tracks to take a photograph as proof to his employer his job was done.

Supt Zaldino said the victim failed to notice a train approaching or hear the frantic shouts of his friends and was killed on the spot. His body was sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.
