Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) wants the government to implement the Goods and Service Tax (GST) on a three-month trial period.
Its president, Hamzah Rahmat said with the trial period, the government could address any impending issues as currently most of the industries were not prepared for the implementation of GST.
"After the transition period, it is ideal for the government to launch it fully by January next year since all unresolved issues are abled to be solved," he told a press conference here, Thursday.
He expected some travel industries to face difficulties, especially with their software with the implementation of GST in next week.
"That is why the government needs to go for a trial period of three months to address pending issues that may arose as well as to ensure that there is no further hiccups with the software," he said.
