GST registration rises to 131,120 as of Nov 9

The number of companies registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) stood at 131,120 as of Nov 9, an increase of 566 from the previous day, said the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.

In a statement, it said the data showed a continuing increase in the number of companies registering for the GST, with the Dec 31, 2014 deadline.

The government's target is to get 140,000 companies to register under the new tax structure to be implemented on April 1, 2015, it said.
