KUALA LUMPUR: The audiences of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) President Mohamad Sabu and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has been postponed.
In a joint statement, they said Guan Eng was scheduled to have an audience today while Mohamad on Wednesday (October 21).
According to them, the Senior Private Secretary to the Agong informed yesterday that the audiences were postponed.
"We uphold the order and pray that His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong and family are endowed with well-being," they said.
In a special press conference yesterday, Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he understood that the Agong would meet with all relevant political party leaders.
The meeting, said the Port Dickson Member of Parliament (MP), was to give space to the Agong to ratify his claim that he had the support of more than 120 MPs to form a new government.
Earlier, Anwar was present at Istana Negara after being granted consent to have an audience with His Majesty following his allegation of gaining 'strong and convincing' support from MPs to form a new government.
However, Comptroller of the Royal Household, Istana Negara Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin later issued a follow-up statement.
According to him, following the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Istana Negara has implemented a partial movement restriction (semi-lockdown).
The partial movement restriction, said Ahmad Fadil, was implemented at the behest of Al-Sultan Abdulllah.
