PAS Youth voted in their president’s son, Mohd Khalil Abdul Hadi as the wing’s new deputy Youth leader at the wing’s polls on Thursday.
Mohd Khalil, the son of Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, secured 355 votes while his rival Raja Ahmad Iskandar Raja Yaakob received 282 votes.
Mohd Khalil, 36, is the eldest of Abdul Hadi’s 11 children.
The Youth wing will now be headed by former Johor PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat, beating his rivals Kamaruzaman Mohamad who secured 307 votes and Zulhazmi Sharif who only managed to garner seven votes.
Suhaizan had received 320 votes.
The two positions became vacant when their incumbents Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi and his deputy Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz decided not to defend their positions.
Meanwhile, Mohd Khairul Nizam Khairuddin who garnered 411 votes was elected as the wing’s vice chief while his challenger Ahmad Zamri Assad Khuzaimi received 226 votes.
