KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has unanimously named Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor as the new Sabah Chief Minister.
Hajiji, who is also the Sulaman State Assemblyman (ADUN), confirmed that he will be sworn in as chief minister at 10.30 am tomorrow.
Hajiji stressed that the new state government will ensure that the problems of the people and the manifesto as well as the promises in the Sabah State Election (PRN) will be fulfilled.
We will fulfill the responsibility and mandate of the people as best we can.
"I thank the people of Sabah for choosing a leader from GRS," he said in a press conference at The Magellan Hotel here on Monday.
Asked about the line-up of Cabinet ministers, Hajiji answered briefly it remains a secret and would announce it after taking the oath.
Also present at the press conference were Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin; President of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan; and Parti Bersatu (PBS) secretary-general, Datuk Jahid Jahim and GRS elected representatives.
Meanwhile, Bung Moktar also explained that the new state government will stop politics and fulfill its responsibility to solve the problems faced by Sabah.
He said the state government under GRS was also able to restore the spirit of the people who have been lost due to the previous government that did not care about the people.
"It is the great responsibility of the new state government for us to all begin to ensure that the people below are protected," he said.
