Half-naked couple fined for causing public nuisance

A couple, believed to be models who were reported to have been walking half-naked along Jalan Sultan Yussuf here on Monday was fined RM400 by the Ipoh Magistrates Court today.
Loh Kah Wai,27 and How Jo Yee, 21, both pleaded guilty for the offence.
They were charged under Section 268 of the Penal Code for causing public nuisance.
According to their lawyer, Andrew Soong, the couple had not intended to cause any controversy and had publically apologised for their actions.
The deputy Public prosecutor Haris Ong Mohd Jeffrey Ong however said that the couple should be punished accordingly as this would serve as a lesson in respecting the people in the future.
The couple, clad in indecent clothes, drew public attention and many social websites posted their photographs which occurred at 9am on Monday.
The female model was reported wearing a white bikini and a veil while the man was wearing long black pants without a shirt.
The models were with a crew and believed to be on a wedding photography session at the location.
