Hamza denied targetting women, children
“The security forces did not target women and children.”
That was the statement made by Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Hamza Taib when telling reporters in a press conference held in Lahad Datu this morning.
He was responding to a recent report by Philippines media claiming that the Malaysian security forces put women and children as targets.
“This is absolutely not true because we captured them, and did not make them as our target.
“Eventhough we are allowed to shoot them considering they were very close to a house where the enemies believed to be staying at, we still try our best to capture them and we are always on alert,” Hamza added.
According to him, they did not receive any police reports saying the security forces performing violence and cruelty.
“In fact, most residents that placed at Dewan Embara Budi and dewan Sekolah Kebangsaan Fajar Harapan received sufficient food supply and other necessities.
At the same time Hamza added that all residents from Kampung Tanjung Labian and Kampung Tanjung Batu have been relocated entirely.
