PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din has became the second PAS top leader who could not attend the party’s 59th muktamar today as he was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN).
PAS muktamar permanent chairman Datuk Abu Kassim Abdullah who announced this in his speech said Haron has been advised to take rest for two weeks.
Apart from Haron, PAS deputy president Mohammad Sabu and PAS central committee member Mohamed Hanipa Maidin were also unable to attend the muktamar as they needed to attend a court hearing.
Hanipa is representing Mohamad or better known as Mat Sabu who is facing a defamation suit, filed by Election Commission deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar for allegedly defaming him in Harakah.
Apart from the court case, Mat Sabu will have to face Kelantan deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Amar Nik Abdullah who will be challenging him at the party polls, later in the evening.
Mat Sabu has been the party’s deputy president since 2011.
