The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is now focusing on the search for the Hawk 108 aircraft's ejection seat after the wreckage of the aircraft which crashed on Thursday near Kampung Yak Yah, Chukai near here was found yesterday morning.
Kemaman District Police chief Supt Mohd Said Ibrahim said all operations and technicalities were carried out by the RMAF team.
"The police only assisted in traffic control," he told reporters here.
According to him, the process of removing the wreckage and so on would be carried out by the air force and they had their own procedures.
Explaining about the duration of the operation, Mohd Said, however, said they would continue to assist in the control of traffic and at the crash site as long as required by the air force.
"But after this all statements to the media can only be issued by the air force," he said.
The plane crash tragedy, three days ago, killed two air force pilots, Major Hasri Zahari, 31, and Major Yazmi Mohamed Yusof, 39.
The aircraft took off from Kuantan Air Base at 11am on Thursday and lost contact half an hour later before the bodies of the two victims were found at 2.30pm in Kampung Yak Yah swamp forest.
