Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has no plans to replace the Hawk fighter jets, said Defense Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
He said most of the RMAF officers are of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with the jets and are not looking at replacing it.
He said the crash on June 15 is still being investigated and said that he had reminded the RMAF to carry out a thorough investigation on the matter.
"We need to investigate this in detail and we need to bring out the wreckage for further investigations," he said at a press conference at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) today.
On June 15, the jet with two pilots Major Yazmi Mohamed Yusof, 29, and Major Mohd Hasri Zahari, 31 on board had taken off from the Kuantan Air Base at 11am but contact was lost at 11.30am.
Both pilots perished in the crash and their bodies were recovered in a swampy area in Chukai, Terengganu.
