Haze 28/6: No 'unhealthy' or 'very unhealthy' readings detected
The haze situation in Malaysia has seen significant improvements, as areas affected with poor air quality have been reduced to moderate this morning.
As of 5am Friday, the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in Nilai (Negeri Sembilan) and Kota Tinggi (Johor) are already detecting a moderate readings with 99 and 97 respectively.
Muar, where previously hit with APIs of over 700, registered API of 51 this morning.
Port Klang, another area which was badly hit by the haze few days ago, is now at API of 54.
The big improvement in air quality was partly driven by the rain on Tuesday, as well as the cloud seeding operations that were carried out yesterday.
Bukit Rambai (Melaka) and Balok Baru (Kuantan) detected API readings at 75 and 72, while Banting (Selangor) at 70.
Meanwhile in Johor, the API readings in Larkin and Pasir Gudang also detected moderate API readings at 61 and 68 respectively.
Other areas shown moderate readings are Kemaman (Terengganu) at 69, Seremban (Negeri Sembilan) at 64 and Indera Mahkota (Kuantan) at 60.
API readings between 0 to 50 is considered as good, moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101-200), very unhealthy (201-300) and hazardous (more than 301).
For the most part of the country, most areas detected API readings of less than 59.
