Haze: Airport runways closed - Azharuddin
Azharuddin told Astro AWANI flight operations at LTSAAS were forced to be stopped at 7am today as visibility at the airport was less than 400 metres.
The runways of several airports were forced to close today due to the worsening haze, Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said.
The airports affected were Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) Subang, Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (LTSAS) Ipoh and Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (LTSAH) Alor Setar.
Azharuddin told Astro AWANI flight operations at LTSAAS were forced to be stopped at 7am today as visibility at the airport was less than 400 metres.
Following the LTSAAS runway closure, 18 departing flights and 4 arrivals were affected.
However, the LTSAAS was back to operation at 9.15am with the visibility of 800 metres, while the LTSAS and LTSAH were back to business in stages beginning 10am.
