Haze: Muar improving, Port Dickson at hazardous level

The haze situation in the country has indicated some improvement compared to yesterday with only one area with hazardous air quality.
The haze has now shifted towards the north affecting Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Wilayah Persekutuan, Pahang dan Selangor.
Port Dickson, (Negeri Sembilan) shows an index of 335 on the API.
Muar town which has recorded the highest API readings in Malaysia yesterday, has now showed signs of improvement with API readings dropping to 148.
Three places recorded very unhealthy air quality. These places are Bukit Rambai (Melaka) with 260, Port Klang (Selangor) 296 and Kemaman (Terengganu) 249.
API readings also improved in some areas of Wilayah Persekutuan, with Batu Muda showing an API of 191, Putrajaya with 155 and Cheras with 157.
In Selangor, Banting recorded an API of 178, Petaling Jaya with 198 and Shah Alam with 157.
For other areas, Kuantan recorded an API of 198 and Indera Mahkota recorded an API of 171, while in Perak, Sri Manjung recorded an API reading of 141.
An API reading of between 0 and 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) while a reading of 300 and above is categorised as very dangerous.
Meanwhile, 19 areas recorded unhealthy air quality of API readings between 101 to 201.
Another 27 areas recorded moderate air quality while only two areas show good air quality.
