The runway at Kuching International Airport has been reopened for flight operations as at 9.10am today.
Kuching International Airport (KIA) senior manager Mohd Nadzim Hashim said the runway was closed since 7am by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and the airport authority due to thick haze.
"As at 9am, there are 25 flights cancelled, involving Airasia (nine departures and 10 arrivals) and Malaysia Airlines Berhad (three departures and three arrivals)," he said when contacted.
Mohd Nadzim said the airport authority expected some delays in flight movements and the information would be updated from time to time.
Earlier today, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), in a Facebook post said visibility at KIA was at 350 meters since 7am and the runway had been declared closed.
