Haze: Shah Alam improves from hazardous to very unhealthy

The haze situation in Shah Alam had improved to very unhealthy level with the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 249, according to the Department of Environment.
Earlier this morning, the reading was 308.
An API reading between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and hazardous for 300 and above.
Five other areas which recorded very unhealthy reading are Batu Muda (209), Port Klang (216), Petaling Jaya (203), Banting (200) and Putrajaya (201).
Late Saturday evening, Kuala Lumpur reached a 'very unhealthy' level. At 11pm, the API reading in Batu Muda was recorded at 213.
