Haze: Shah Alam now hazardous
According to the Department of Environment, Shah Alam had recorded an API reading of 308 as of 9am today.
The haze situation in the country continues to worsen with seven areas recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.
According to the Department of Environment, Shah Alam had recorded an API reading of 308 as of 9am today.
Yesterday, the API reading in Shah Alam was 196.
The API readings in Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur is 284, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (240), Banting, Selangor (237), Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya (228), Pelabuhan Kelang, Selangor (224) and Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (202).
An API reading between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and hazardous for 300 and above.
Late Saturday evening, Kuala Lumpur reached a 'very unhealthy' level. At 11pm, the API reading in Batu Muda was recorded at 213.
