Health minister rules out delay in removing bullet from Sanjeevan
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam today ruled out any case of a delay in or wanting to delay the surgical removal of the bullet from R. Sri Sanjeevan, the chairman of the crime watchdog, MyWatch, who was shot on July 27. He said that at the moment the bullet was not causing any problem and the more important thing now was to stabilise Sanjeevan's condition. "The reason why surgery was not done is because his acute problem is not because of what the bullet is doing now; it is the condition of his body that is life threatening for him at the moment," he told reporters after giving a progress update on the National Key Economic Area (NKEA) on healthcare, here. Subramaniam said the decision was purely a medical procedure, and that once his condition improved, doctors would proceed with the surgery. Sri Sanjeevan, 29, was shot in the abdomen by the pillion rider of a motorcycle which drew alongside a silver BMW car driven by him at an intersection in Taman Cempaka, Seremban, on July 27.
