Heavy monsoon rain expected in four states

A heavy monsoon rain is expected to occur in Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang beginning Saturday till next Wednesday.

This is due to the rainy season or northeast monsoon since October and it is expected to continue till early March next year, said the Meteorological Department in a statement.

In Sabah, intermittent rain occasionally moderate is expected to occur in Kudat, Sandakan and Tawau from Saturday till Sunday.

A similar situation is expected in Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baharu, Bachok, Pasir Puteh and Machang) and Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang) from Sunday till Tuesday.

It is also expected to occur from Monday till Wednesday in Dungun and Kemaman (Terengganu), and Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin (Pahang).
