The Federal Court's decision today to dismiss the bid by the Catholic church to challenge a ban on the usage of the word "Allah" has prompted "The Herald" to consider filing a review against the court.
According to its lead counsel Datuk Dr Cyrus Das, who is acting for the applicant Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of KL said that his client would have to consider whether to file for a review.
"There is no time limit to file for review," he said, adding that it (the review) would be filed diligently.
Co-counsel S.Selvarajah said they could file for a review application under the Rules of the Federal Court.
"You can review a decision of the Federal Court on limited grounds such as breach of rules of natural justice, the panel had been wrongly constituted or the judge has refer to a law which has been repealed or wrong application of law," he said.
However, said Selvarajah, a review application rarely succeed.
