High precision machines for the rally champion
Alright so we’ve been emphasising so much on the cars that Karamjit Singh will be driving and if you truly know what these high precision cars are capable of you would know why we’re so excited about it. These cars are not just any Mercedes these cars were sent to the AMG factory to be detuned and retuned to suit the sportiest styles.
The Tarmac Warrior star will be driving three cars and one of them is the A45 AMG. The A45 AMG is the hottest hatch-back you can get anywhere on earth, even hotter than the Honda Civic Type R that chugs 300bhp. The A45’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces a colossal 356bhp making it the most powerful series-production four-cylinder passenger car engine in the world.
Turbocharged and emits a purr that would sooth a motoring maniac’s soul, the engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift DCT seven-speed sports transmission to couple with the AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, AMG sports suspension, the AMG Axles and an AMG high-performance braking system to provide the overall sporty experience.
The A45 AMG is also equipped with a performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard. With a multi-disc clutch equipped with AMG-specific electro-hydraulic control, the car has a variable torque-split function that varies depending on handling situations to swap from plain front-wheel drive to a split 50:50 power ratio to all four wheels.
So how will this A45 AMG perform, will it be kind to the Flying Sikh or will the rally champion show it who is boss? Catch Tarmac Warriors in XLR8 to find out. Did we mention that the Mercedes-Benz Team will also be taking on the Gymkhana challenge with two A45 AMGs?
