Highland Towers rescuer dies in road accident in Puchong

N. Yogaraja and some members of the rescue teams involved in Highland Towers tragedy, appeared on television in a special interview with Nur Hamidah, last March.
A member of the Fire and Rescue Department involved in rescue operations during the Highland Towers tragedy on December 11, 1993, died in a road accident early today.
Senior Fire Officer 1, Yogaraja Nadaraja reportedly died on the spot after being involved in a road accident at a Kinrara, Puchong traffic light, while heading towards Taman Sri Manja, Petaling Jaya.
Initial report revealed that Yogaraja's motorcycle had skidded and hit the road divider at about 2am this morning.
“His body is now at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. Funeral prayers will be announced later," Fire and Rescue Department tweeted.
“The department expresses its condolences on his passing. May the family members remain strong in their moment of grief,” the tweet said.
Yogaraja was among the individuals involved in rescuing two Indonesians, Umi Rasyidah Khoiruman, 44 and her daughter Nur Hamidah Nadjib, 24, when the tragedy occurred, twenty-three years ago.
