KUALA LUMPUR:Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah explained the status uploaded on his Twitter account regarding the hint to stay home was not a new thing that he voiced out on.
He explained that the purpose was to remind all Malaysians to stay home if there was no important matter in the current COVID-19 situation.
However, he said if they still wanted to leave home, they were reminded to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set.
"So, that is not a new thing when I tweet. From the first day, I would tweet to remind all Malaysians who have no important business outside to sit at home.
"If we want to leave home because there is an important matter, comply with the SOP. That is the main purpose of my tweet ... not a new thing. Just remember to sit at home if there are no important things to do,” he said in his daily press conference here on Thursday.
Earlier, a Twitter status uploaded by Dr Noor Hisham invited questions from the public who were puzzled whether the MCO would be implemented again.
The tweet was "How about all stay at home for a while again?", which later became the talk of netizens on social media.
