Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has urged all parties to avoid making speculations on the MASWings Twin Otter crash in Kudat, Sabah in which two people perished.

"We do not know the cause. Maybe it had nothing to do with the aircraft..we don't want to make any speculation," he told reporters at a carnival organised by the defence ministry in Kota Baharu, Friday.

Hishammuddin said he had not received the initial report on the incident but the twin otter service had not been ordered to cease.

He will head to Kudat Saturday to meet with the investigating team from the Civil Aviation Department, Malaysia Airlines and the Aircraft Accident Investigation division.

In the 2.50 pm incident Thursday, the aircraft carrying 16 passengers including the pilot and co pilot overshot the Kudat Airport runway and crashed into a house in Kampung Sin San.

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin said the automated enforcement system (AES) would be managed by wholly owned government company, AES Solutions Sdn Bhd, which would take over from ATES Sdn Bhd and Beta Tegap Sdn Bhd.
