The Home and the Defence ministries are working together closely to bring closure to the Lahad Datu incident, where a group of armed foreigners had intruded and caused a shootout that killed two Malaysian policemen.
Home minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said this through his twitter account, when responding to a question by one of his followers about the role of the defence ministry in the incident.
Hishammuddin said his ministry as well as the Defence and the Foreign Affairs ministries have been working together since the beginning.

Yesterday, Defence minister Zahid Hamidi had echoed Hishammuddin in saying the Malaysian Armed Force (ATM) and the police worked closely to solve the problem.
Zahid had said ATM did not wash its hands off the issue and they are at the location of the incident with the required assets.
Zahid also urged the public not to make wild accusations or politicise the matter.
