Brownie, a stray dog who had found solace in the care of independent stray rescue organisation Woof My Roof, was recently found critically wounded with broken legs and neck injuries.
According to independent rescuer Shan, the distressed dog was rushed to a vet in Kota Damansara, where X-rays revealed the horrific extent of the cruelty inflicted on him. Around 60 to 70 metal bullets were found lodged in his legs and throughout his back, causing extensive bone damage and leaving him with little hope of recovery.
Given the severity of Brownie's condition, the vet recommended euthanasia as the humane way to end his pain and suffering.
Shan, who had been caring for Brownie for two years, expressed her disbelief and grief on Instagram. "I've been feeding you for two years, just two weeks and you're gone. You're so harmless. I don't understand why this happened to you," she wrote.
Shan also mentioned that Brownie's two stray friends had been missing for two days. She has filed a police report and provided evidence of the metal bullets removed from Brownie to assist in the investigation.
Independent stray rescue charity My Forever Doggo has joined the call for justice and is urging anyone with information or eyewitness accounts of Brownie's mistreatment to come forward. Members of the public are asked to report any information to the Department of Veterinary Services.
