Honda Malaysia extends recall to 147,894 units

Honda Malaysia has extended its recall exercise for the front passenger airbag inflator in specific models that includes 147,894 units of Honda vehicles manufactured between 2003 and 2011.

The models recalled are the Accord (2003-2011 YM), City (2009-2011 YM), Civic (2007-2011 YM), CR-V (2008-2011 YM), Freed (2009-2011 YM), Insight (2011 YM), Jazz (2009-2011 YM) and Odyssey (2004-2008 YM). For each model specified above, the units affected clock in at Accord (46,832), City (52,345), Civic (23,701), CR-V (15,938), Freed (2,582), Insight (5,053), Jazz (899) and Odyssey (544).

Customers with a model under the recall in their driveway will be informed via a notification letter in the mail and will contain all necessary details regarding the procedures to bring in the car to have the defective part replaced. The letter should be brought in together during the visit to the authorized service centre.

All parts and labour costs pertaining to the recall will be borne entirely by Honda Malaysia.

Honda Malaysia continues to urge all owners of Honda vehicles affected by the airbag inflator recall to get their vehicles checked and parts replaced at any authorised Honda dealers as soon as possible upon receipt of the notification letter.
