Burglars broke into a Sathya Sai Baba house of worship in Taman Universiti here early today and carted away RM21,000 worth of valuables.
The advisor to the house of worship, Dr R. Vijendran said a staff, S. Natchimuthu, realised the burglary at about 7 am.
"Several valuables were looted, including an idol worth RM12,000, musical equipment and a video camera," he told Bernama at the premises.
Natchimuthu said he realised that the premises had been broken into when he noticed that the door had been prised open.
"Items were scattered inside the premises and the idol was missing," he said, adding that the break-in could have happened between midnight and 5 am.
The Sungai Way police station here confirmed having received a report on the burglary.
