Housemaids of actress' husband jailed for theft

Two Indonesian housemaids were sentenced to six months' jail by the Magistrate's Court here today for stealing from their employer.

Nilawati, 39, and Sri Maniami, 35, pleaded guilty to stealing Indonesian rupiah and Malaysian ringgit totaling RM200 belonging to Rizal Ashram Ramli, 38, at the victim's house at Jalan Duta Suria, Ampang Jaya here at 9.45pm on March 12.

The duo who were earlier seen in tears while mitigating for a lenient sentence to enable them to return to their village for Ramadan, was ordered by Magistrate Zulyana Zolkapli to serve their jail terms from the date of their arrest on March 13.

The prosecution was represented by deputy public prosecutor Faridah Nurdinie Bahrum.

Incidentally, the victim is the husband of local actress Fasha Sandha (pic).
