RAFIZAH: I hope there is a hospital that can cater to my mother so that her life can be saved.
A senior citizen undergoing treatment at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) fell into a coma following the deadly fire that struck the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Tuesday.
Seventy-year-old Fatimah Laksa was suffering from diabetes and was scheduled for an operation before the fire broke out.
Rafizah Mohd Samusi, 49, is appealing to hospitals to accommodate her mother, who still needs to be placed under ICU.
"We are waiting to hear from Sultan Ismail Hospital if there is space (for my mother). Otherwise, they might reach out to hospitals in Kluang, Batu Pahat or Segamat.
"My mother is already in coma. We hope she can be admitted soon so that she can be saved," Rafizah told Astro AWANI.
Six patients were killed in the fire that broke out at HSA's ICU unit on the second floor at 9am Tuesday. One patient was rescued in the incident.
