Human Resources Ministry postpones start date of academic session at ILJTMs
Human Resources Minister Datuk Richard Riot
The Ministry of Human Resources has postponed the commencement date for students beginning their studies at the Manpower Department Training Institutions (ILJTMs), originally set for Jan 5, 2015 due to the floods which struck several states.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Richard Riot in a statement on Friday said ILJTMs in Peninsular Malaysia involved are the Industrial Training Institute (ILP), Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) and Malaysia Japan Technical Institute (JMTI).
"For ILJTMs in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Johor, the date of commencement of session for new students is on Jan 11 (Sunday) while senior students will start on Jan 14 (Wednesday).
"For ILJTMs in other states, the commencement date for the academic session for new students is on Jan 12 (Monday) while the date for senior students is Jan 15 (Thursday)," he said.
Riot added, for ILJTMs in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, there are no changes in the date of commencement for the academic session, which is Jan 5 (Monday) for new students and Jan 8 (Thursday) for seniors.
"The postponement was made in consideration of the plight of parents, students and management of institutions who are facing the flood situation especially those living in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Kedah, Perak and Johor," he said.
