The government has agreed to pay the final Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) payment for 2015 originally scheduled for end-September, to be brought forward from Sept 21.
The payment was expedited in conjunction with Hari Raya Aildiladha celebration on Sept 24, said Second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah in a statement today.
"The government hopes this financial assistance will help the people buy the necessities and undertake preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha," he said.
The BR1M payment will be credited directly into the recipients' accounts.
For those who do not have accounts, approval letters will be posted directly to their addresses and they can be cashed at any Bank Simpanan Nasional, Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank branches.
Under Budget 2015, the government has decided that the BR1M payment will be distributed in three stages. The first payment was distributed on Jan 15, 2015 and the second payment on May 28, 2015.
