Hyundai’s brand new crossover concept, love it or leave it?

Hyundai took the opportunity the Seoul Motor Show offered to introduce their brand new concept crossover. By Jerrica Leong
The new concept is called Enduro, a new crossover concept that Hyundai created to fit the city dwellers with an energetic and athletic lifestyle. The name Enduro is derived from the word Endurance to pay tribute to the SUV and rally motorcycle the designers have drawn inspiration from when creating the concept car.
Take a look at the Enduro and the first feature that grabs the eye is the new interpretation of Hyundai’s design signature hexagonal front grille. The car also has a low centre of gravity to give the driver a sense of stability. Perhaps the most surprising feature is how an aluminium aero blade connects the front fender to the grille.
The Enduro has a raised ground clearance, SUV-style fender cladding and a dark grey garnish to the lower parts of car to give the car an aggressive stance and to enhance the illusion of a vehicle made for a robust lifestyle. The C-pillars in particular, are fitted with a unique aerodynamic air-blade to reduce drag.
Inside, the design team at Hyundai has recreated the dashboard with a combination of horizontal and vertical elements to express sportiness, toughness and endurance. To give it a dynamic atmosphere that wraps around the driver’s seat. Other than that, Hyundai has redesigned other small details to reinforce the Enduro’s sporty and upbeat image.
To further remind drivers that the car’s inspiration is drawn from a rally motorcycle, the steering wheel is designed to feature the spoke and handle molding of a road bike. Even the door handles have a lightweight cowl image of an off-road bike!
