"I am still Menteri Besar of interim government" - Faizal Azumu

IPOH:Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal said he will still remain as the Menteri Besar of Perak under the interim or caretaker government until a new appointment is made.

“I have had an audience with the Sultan of Perak.

“During the audience, I have informed His Highness about what happened at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting this morning where I I had lost the majority,” he said to reporters after the audience at Istana Kinta, here just now.

“Of course, Tuanku Sultan needs to make some meetings ... until Tuanku decides to choose one of the members of the House who has a sufficient majority to form a government.

"So, for the time being, I will be (Menteri Besar) for the 'caretaker government'," he said at the Istana Kinta compound.

At the same time, he hoped that the appointment of his successor can be done quickly as well as urging the people in the state to continue to be patient and calm.

Ahmad Faizal had earlier entered Istana Kinta at about 5.15 pm.

He who was riding in the official vehicle was seen waving towards the media before entering the entrance of the palace.

Seen with him in the vehicle was his Senior Special Officer, Mohd Hafez Mubin Mohd Salleh.Edit×
