"I could feel the bus flying," said one of the survivors of the bus crash at Km 137.3 of North-South Expressway, near Pagoh, early yesterday.
The crash of the express bus travelling from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur killed 14 people and injured 16 others.
R. Nagadevan,32, from Sungai Siput, Perak, said he felt uneasy before boarding the bus which arrived at 1.50am, about one hour later than the expected time of 1am.
"I dozed off soon after boarding the bus and woke up to hear screams of the passengers. I could feel the bus flying before plunging into a ravine.
"I was slammed to the right and to the left before sent crashing to the front seat," he told Bernama.
As a result of the accident, he suffered injuries to both legs, chest, left arm and the lips which required stitches.
Nagadevan, who was seated in the third row from the front managed to ask a rescuer for the time, and was told it was already 4.30am.
"I was planning to attend a religious programme in Seremban and did not expect this incident to happen," said the warehouse coordinator in Singapore.
Another survivor, Zaw Oo,25, from Myanmar also shared his horrific experience in the bus crash.
"I boarded the bus and went to sleep. I only woke up when the accident occured and saw that the bus was all broken up."
Zaw Oo, who was injured in the head and left leg, was expected to be discharged today. He was accompanied by two brothers.
Others being treated at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital include Miyarseh Kemat,32, from Penang, the wife of the bus driver, R. Kesavan,26, from Kajang, Selangor and R. Govindara,50, from India. - BERNAMA
