KUALA LUMPUR: Artificial Intelligence or AI is definitely more than just a catchphrase in the current Malaysian digital technology landscape.
At the forefront of this transformative era is the IBM watsonx platform.
According to the Managing Director and Technology Leader of IBM Malaysia, Catherine Lian, IBM's research underscores the critical role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in gaining a competitive edge, with a staggering 75% of Chief Executive Officers acknowledging its significance.
“At IBM we believe that businesses need AI that is accurate, adaptable, and scalable.”
“This year, IBM introduced watsonx, a comprehensive AI platform to address the challenge of scaling and operationalizing AI and bridge the gap between AI technology and business outcomes.”
“The IBM watsonx platform is engineered to be an enterprise-ready solution, empowering organizations to deploy and build robust AI models. Businesses are enabled to meet their needs such as: interacting with customers and employees; automating business workflows; protecting against threats; and tackling sustainability goals.”
“Beyond mere deployment, the platform emphasizes monetization, a crucial factor in realizing the potential of AI technologies,” said Catherine.
In Malaysia, the momentum of AI adoption is gaining significant traction.
Therefore, Catherine recognized AI adoption as a potential game-changer in market competitiveness, as these sectors are taking the lead in harnessing the transformative power of AI technologies.
“The AI realization journey starts with understanding an organization's specific objectives, whether it's cost optimization, productivity enhancement, or strategic alignment,” she added.
Other than that, IBM watsonx placed a strong emphasis on readiness, transparency, and the robustness of AI-powered systems.
“The platform is designed to offer a high level of trustworthiness, aligning with an organization's governance requirements while maximizing the potential of AI applications.
“IBM's approach to AI is underpinned by four pillars - openness, trustworthiness, targeted, and empowerment,” Catherine further explained on Notepad with Ibrahim Sani on Thursday.
