ICYMI: All you need to know about the Audi TTS
When the newly formed Audi Malaysia launched the Audi TT back in May, they had promised us that they would be bringing in the TTS for the ultimate enthusiasts. And now here it is, in the TTS form. The TTS is the first official Audi S model to be introduced in Malaysia and Audi Malaysia promises that more are to come.
But first, let’s get to know the TTS.
- The exterior features the same silhouette of the Audi TT Coupe with the addition of extra TTS badging and TTS-specific radiator grille with aluminium design along with front and rear bumper with diffuser that are also TTS specific.
- The TTS features electrically S sport front seats, a TTS sports contour leather-covered steering wheel with multifunction plus and shift paddles.
- Occupants are entertained with a Bang & Olufsen sound system with DVD drive, 14-channel amplifier and 12 loudspeakers.
- Under that bonnet of the TTS is Audi’s award winning 2.0-litre TFSI engine inline four petrol engine.
- That engine is mated to a six-speed S-Tronic transmission that allows the TTS to dispense 286bhp and a max torque of 380Nm at 1800rpm to 5200rpm.
- Quattro system powers those stylish 19-inch forged aluminium wheels to do a century sprint of 4.7 seconds. Top speed, like the Audi TT variant, is electronically limited to 250kph.
- The engineers over at Ingolstadt have also recalibrated the TTS like installing reinforced aluminium pistons, connecting rods, bearings and crankcases to make sure the car delivers the performance.
- Despite those awesome numbers, the TTS still has fuel efficiency numbers of 6.9-litres/100km and CO2 emission of 159g/km.
- Audi’s drive select system comes as standard in the TTS allowing drivers to pick from Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual.
- An automatic rear spoiler will deploy itself when the TTS hits speeds above 120kph to improve the car’s aerodynamics and stability.
Audi is offering the TTS in eleven colour choices, the same ten as the Audi TT with the addition of that Vegas Yellow and Sepang Blue with pearl effect. The asking price is RM389,900 while an additional RM5000 is required for the optional Matrix LEDs and another RM2500 for the rear-view camera.
