Monday, June 13:
The Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA) revoked Rayani Air's Air Operator Certificate (AOC) after a full investigation into the administration and safety audit of the airline’s state of operations.
DCA director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said the airline has been given an opportunity to make a representation during an inquiry on May 12.
He said the country’s first syariah-compliant airline must return the AOC to the DCA within 14 days from the date of notice of revocation.

The driver of the late Karpal Singh who was charged with reckless driving that resulted in the former DAP chairman and his personal assistant's deaths was granted a discharge and acquittal.
Magistrate Mohamad Ibrahim Mohamad Ghulam in his ruling said the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against C.Selvam, 29.
The 2.0L variant of the new Proton Perdana is priced at RM113,888, while the 2.4L is at RM138,888.
It is available in six different colours namely Graphite Grey, Sterling Silver, Ruby Red, Cotton White, Midnight Black and Citrine Gold.

An American family's Disney vacation turned into a nightmare when an alligator snatched their two-year-old boy at the shore of a resort lake and the father was unable to pry the toddler from the animal's jaws, officials said Wednesday.
A search and rescue operation was launched after the attack Tuesday night at the Grand Floridian hotel not far from the Magic Kingdom, but police said they held out little hope the boy would be found alive.
Thursday, June 16:
The remains of the defence attaché at the Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia, Brig Gen Datuk Jalaludin Md Yusof, were flown home by the Malaysian Royal Air Force's C130 aircraft.
Jalaludin, 57, died after collapsing in the main hall of the Embassy of Malaysia after a buka puasa event organised by the embassy on Wednesday.

By the time authorities noticed that Tyrel Martin Marhanka had a sharp metal object in his hands, it was too late.
The 41-year-old American - who was sitting in a courtroom in Taiwan during his sentencing on drug possession charges - plunged the object deep into his neck, unleashing a gush of blood.
Jo Cox, a 41-year-old mother-of-two from the opposition Labour Party, was shot in the face while lying on the ground by a lone attacker in the village of Birstall in northern England, according to witnesses quoted by local media.

Barisan Nasional won the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections with increased majority.
Barisan Nasional's candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi won the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat with 9,191 votes majority.
The fight for the seat was between Budiman, Dr Abdul Rani Osman (PAS) and Azhar Abdul Shukur (Amanah).
Budiman garnered 16,800 votes while Dr Abdul Rani (6,902) and Azhar (7,609) votes.
The Barisan Nasional won the Kuala Kangsar by-election with a 6,969 vote majority.
BN's candidate Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid garnered 12,653 votes while PAS's Dr Najihatussalehah Ahmad received 5,684 votes and Prof Dr Ahmad Termizi Ramli of Parti Amanah Negara polled 4,883 votes.
Independent candidate Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary received 54 votes.
Three astronauts including Briton Tim Peake landed back on Earth Saturday after completing a six-month mission on the International Space Station (ISS).
Peake, the first British astronaut on the ISS, Russia's Yury Malenchenko and NASA's Tim Kopra parachuted down onto the Kazakh steppe in their Soyuz capsule at 0915 GMT after spending 186 days in orbit.

A team of traditional healers claimed they had successfully 'caught' several jinns which were said to have made Masjid Kampung Tedong in Malacca, their home since 400 million years ago.
One of the practitioners, Sa'ad Jaafar, 49, claimed that the incident of two prayer room partitions 'gliding' across the hall of the mosque, caught in a spooky video recording, was not factored by wind, as previously claimed.
He claimed the jinns did it.
