Monday, Jan 11:
Music legend David Bowie has died after losing an 18 month battle with cancer.
Reports on his social media websites said that he died peacefully surrounded by his family. Stars, politicians and fans rushed online to pay their respects.
The draft of the National Harmony Bill is now in its final stage and will be presented to the Cabinet in the near future, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
He said that to ensure the bill was able to goals, his department had gathered views from various parties, including non-governmental and political parties.
"The Act is not to simply prosecute or punish those found it's more to creating awareness and to educate people to not do anything that could affect the country's harmony," he said.
A 16-year-old male student was arrested at a supermarket in Sungai Petani, Kedah after he was suspected of being involved with IS militant group or terrorists.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the teenager was arrested by the Kedah Criminal Investigation Department under the Security Act (Special Measures) (SOSMA) 2012 and was now at Bukit Aman's (Federal Police's) Special Branch for further investigations.
Tuesday, Jan 12:
A construction worker was killed while three were injured in the collapsed crane incident at Jalan Damansara, here today. Fire and Rescue Department received a report at approximately 4.50pm and arrived at the scene 20 minutes later.
The victim is known as Li Ji Yia, 50 while those injured were of Myanmar and Chinese nationals which have yet to be ascertained.
Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Zaid Ibrahim can expect himself to be arrested under the Sedition Act at any time.
Zaid said he expected a follow-up action based on the questions raised at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
"From the questions posed to me during the interrogation session, I can expect it (to be arrested under the Sedition Act).

Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein confirmed that the two suicide bombers involved in militant attacks in Iraq and Syria Malaysians.
"Before this one of our citizens carried out a suicide bombing (in Iraq). Now two more.

Militants launched a gun and bomb at least six people in the of Jakarta, in an attack that followed a threat by Daish fighters to put the country in their "spotlight".

Two students, aged 12 were killed while another student sustained injuries in an accident involving 19 vehicles in front of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Damai Perdana, Cheras.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, Mohd Safiq Mohd Noor said the preliminary report revealed that the incident occurred after a lorry lost control and rammed into 15 motorcycles parked in front of a school.

Bukit Aman Special Branch (E8) on Friday detained a man suspected to be involved in Daish militant activities.
The man was detained at , Ampang with weapons and documents related to Daish or the Islamic State.
Former Special Action Force officer Azilah Hadri who was convicted for the murder of Mongolian model Altantunya Shaariibuu is seeking a royal pardon from the Sultan of Selangor.
His lawyer Datuk Hazman Ahmad said when contacted that he submitted the petition for the royal pardon to the sultan's confidential secretary.
Saturday, Jan 16:
A married couple among four individuals arrested by police during a special operation in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur between Jan 11 to Jan 15, on suspicion of being involved in terrorism activities and militants.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said three of the suspects were caught by the authorities in Turkey while they were on their way to Syria.
Selangor and Johor police said today they have stepped up security in the states following the bomb attack in Jakarta on Thursday.
Selangor Police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said security was being beefed up at public places such as shopping malls, entertainment outlets, tourist attractions and entry-exit points such as airports and ports.
He advised the people in the state not to be unduly worried as the security situation was under control.
