TUESDAY, January 19:
Schoolgirl loses both legs in hit-and-run accident
A Form One girl lost both her legs after being ran over by a lorry in a hit-and-run accident at Parit 16, Sungai Panjang. Sabak Bernam police chief Supt Nor Azmi Isa said the girl, Siti Nuraisyah Sahrin, and her stepsister, Shamin Amirah Roslan, 14, were on a motorcycle heading home when the mishap occurred at 3 pm.

Actress Fasha Sandha, Jejai officially divorced
Speculation surrounding local actress, Fasha Sandha's marriage finally comes to an end when she and her husband, Rizal Ashram Ramli, is officially divorced with a single talaq.
The majority of Kedah UMNO leaders expressed no-confidence in Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir as the menteri besar and chairman of the state UMNO liaison committee. Kedah UMNO liaison committee deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah announced this after a closed-door meeting with almost all UMNO assemblymen and MPs in the state.
THURSDAY, January 21:
Nearly 1,000 people gathered at the Kedah UMNO building in support of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir. They gathered since 8pm to voice support for Mukhriz who was said to be present in the building to attend the Jerlun UMNO Division meeting that night.

He drew to attention the fact that he had given way in the 13th general election for Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir to become menteri besar.
