MONDAY, JULY 25
'Sue the American Government if their claims on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) were unfounded', Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said. He added, although the AG (Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali) had explained the matter, there needs to be a follow-up as the allegations by the US Department of Justice would compromise Malaysia's image if they were not addressed immediately.
Datuk Seri Najib Razak has called for the individuals implicated in the United States Department of Justice's (DOJ) report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to clear their names. The Prime Minister also stressed that the individuals named must take responsibility for their actions.
TUESDAY, JULY 26
The UMNO Youth alleged three former top government officials were involved in a conspiracy to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. They are former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, former Bank Negara Malaysia governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz and former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 27
A brazen shooting incident at a commercial area near Jalan Genting Kelang shocked unsuspecting members of the public who witnessed the crime. A CCTV recording showed the vehicle stopping at the traffic light. Shortly after, two motorcycles came up behind the car, with two riders on each motorbike. The pillion riders then got off and began firing at both sides of the vehicle.
A businessman died after jumping from the fifth floor of a shopping mall in USJ 19. In the 8.30am incident, the 34-year-old was found at the parking lot of the mall by a security guard on duty.
