The late Tunku Laksamana of Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim had always warranted public attention, especially from the people of Johor.
Born on July 5, 1990 to the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris, Tunku Jalil, as he was fondly known, was the fourth out of six siblings.
National squash queen Datuk Nicol David retained the Hong Kong Open for the 10th time after defeating arch rival Laura Massaro of England in the final today.
It was Nicol's 100th Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour tournament final.

The son of the Johor Sultan, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim passed away earlier tonight due to liver cancer. He was 25.
Tunku Abdul Jalil breathed his last at 7.11pm at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru, the Johor Council of Royal Court president, Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli announced.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar today chided Women's World Squash Championship organiser Hallmark Events Group, for using 'security issues' to get RM3.5 million from the government.
His outburst followed the postponement by the organiser, of the event scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 11 till Dec 18. He described the organiser's explanation for the postponement as ridiculous.
FRIDAY, Dec 4:
The Appeals Court here Friday upheld the death sentence on four men for the murder of cosmetics millionairess Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and her three aides, five years ago.
The four are former lawyer, N. Pathmanabhan, 45, and farmhands T. Thilaiyalagan, 23, R. Matan, 24 and R. Kathavarayan, 35.
Thai police on Friday said Moscow's top intelligence agency has warned a group of 10 militants from the self-styled Islamic State has entered the kingdom to target Russians.
It said Moscow's Federal Security Service (FSB) has told Thai police that 10 Syrian militants from Islamic State entered the country between October 15 and 31 to target Russian interests.
THURSDAY, Dec 3:
The National Security Council Bill 2015 which provides special powers to the National Security Council and the security forces on security matters was passed by the Dewan Rakyat today.
Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said announced the passage of the bill based on voice vote.
Earlier, the bill did not have easy passage at the policy stage when block voting had to be called. However, it went through with 107 "ayes" and 74 "nays".
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has identified the individual who contributed RM2.6 billion as a political fund to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
This is according to an announcement made by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Dewan Rakyat according to Rules of Meetings 14(1)(i), which is the explanation by ministers.

The new minimum starting salary for the civil service at RM1,200 per month takes effect from July 1 next year, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
She said that from Nov 1 this year, the government had raised the Fixed Housing Allowance (ITP), including for the Implementer Group at a minimum rate of RM300 per month and officers living in quarters also received 25 percent of the ITP rate.
India on Wednesday deployed troops to Tamil Nadu and closed the main airport after heavy rains exacerbated weeks of flooding that have killed nearly 200 people in the southern coastal state.

Ex-Malaysia envoy guilty of New Zealand indecent assault
A former Malaysian diplomat pleaded guilty Monday to the indecent assault of a New Zealand woman, with a court hearing he burst into her bedroom naked from the waist down.
Mohammed Rizalman bin Ismail was a military attache at Malaysia's Wellington embassy when the incident happened last year, and the case caused outrage when he fled to his homeland citing diplomatic immunity.
The court heard that on May 9 last year Billingsley was at home in Brooklyn, the Wellington suburb where the Malaysian embassy is located, when she heard a knock on her bedroom door.
Rizalman then entered wearing no trousers or underpants. She screamed and struggled with him, managing to push him out of the house before calling police.
