KHALID: Although I've been condemned many times, the statement by Azmin was over the limit.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar regards PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali's statement, calling him an UMNO 'barua' or lackey, at a recent ceramah as extreme.
Khalid said he was informed of Mohamed Azmin's allegation and the Senior Police Officers Association had issued a statement on the matter today.
"Our country has laws and let the law decide. I am also not sure whether an investigation paper on this case has been opened or not.
"It's just that why did he (Azmin) not ask whether I am an UMNO lackey or not? Why ask the people of Permatang Pauh (where the ceramah was held)?" he said at a news conference at the Seberang Perai Tengah district police headquarters here.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also Selangor Menteri Besar, in his public talk during the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat by-election campaign recently was alleged to have accused Khalid of being an UMNO lackey.
Asked whether he was sad over Mohamed Azmin's statement, Khalid said he often faced such statements and claims.
"You (reporters) also know that I have been condemned many times. But to me, Azmin's statement is over the limit," he said.

Earlier today, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) strongly hit out at Mohamed Azmin's rude remark made against Khalid.
Senior Police Officers Association (Commissioned Officers Branch) president, Shah Gzali Khan Shahadad reportedly said in a statement that PDRM was very hurt over Azmin's uncouth remark.
