IKEA Malaysia has recalled the indoor and outdoor children’s GUNGGUNG swing on Tuesday, citing safety reasons.
Business area manager for children's product, Cindy Andersen, asked all who owned the swing to keep it away from their children and return it to IKEA for a full refund.
The statement from the furniture giant said incidents have occurred where the fitting in the suspension broke.
"To prevent anymore such incidents, IKEA has chosen to recall the product and the swing can be returned to the IKEA store for a full refund," she said in the statement.
She said children do not think about safety when they play, and therefore it was up to the company to do so.
Cindy said IKEA has always tested their products at accredited test labs before they are launched in stores.
The GUNGGUNG swing has been sold in Malaysia since April 1 this year.
The swing can be returned to IKEA without proof of payment (receipts) for a full refund. For more information, contact IKEA Customer Service at 03-7726 7777.
