Increase in number of flood victims in Perak
MetMalaysia predicts that most districts, including Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim are expected to experience storms and rain in the afternoon and at night. - SinarHarian
IPOH: The number of flood victims at the relief centre (PPS) at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai in Beruas in the Manjung district recorded an increase today.
The Secretariat of the District Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, stated that 18 people from five families were at the PPS this morning from 15 people (four families) yesterday.
"All the victims are from Kampung Padang Serai, Kampung Kasi and Kampung Pengkalan Damar," it said.
Meanwhile, according to the Perak Drainage and Irrigation Department, the water in Sungai Perak at Pasang Api, Bagan Datuk, is at a danger level with a reading of 2.56 metres. The normal level is 1 metre.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicts that most districts, including Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim are expected to experience storms and rain in the afternoon and at night.
The Perak Public Works Department (JKR) also informed that route A175 Jalan Selat-Pulau Pebayan in the Perak Tengah district is still closed to all vehicles as it is still under 0.8 metres of flood water.
