India's COVID-19 tally surpass 42 million, deaths over 500,000

NEW DELHI: India's COVID-19 tally rose to 42,080,664 on Saturday as 127,952 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, according to the federal health ministry's latest data.
A total of 1,059 deaths reported since Friday morning, raising the total death toll to 501,114, reported Xinhua news agency.
There are still 1,331,648 active COVID-19 cases in the country with a fall of 103,921 active cases during the past 24 hours.
This was the 12th consecutive day the number of active cases declined in the country.
A total of 40,247,902 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals so far.
